Job Description:
CoreStack is seeking an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator.
- Installing MongoDB, configuring database settings, and ensuring proper deployment.
- Monitoring database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, optimizing queries and indexes to improve efficiency and response times.
- Planning and implementing strategies for database scalability to handle growing data volumes.
- Estimating future resource requirements based on growth projections, planning for hardware upgrades or additional servers as needed, and optimizing resource utilization.
- Collaborating with developers and data architects to design efficient database schemas, ensuring normalization and appropriate indexing for optimal performance.
- Investigating and resolving database-related issues, providing support to developers and users, and maintaining a high level of uptime and reliability.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role you must be:
- 7+ years of experience in providing DBA support for Mongo systems with Linux background.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, 24/7 production environment supporting critical, real-time applications.
- Experience working with Mongo 6+ and MySQL Server is a plus.
- Extensive experience in Mongo database standards, upgrades, migrations, replication, and best practices.
- Experience managing Cloud resources for running MongoDB Clusters.
- Experience in backup/recovery/failover methods and best practices.
- Experience in scripting languages, such as Shell, Python, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in information science, Computer Science or similar areas or equivalent work experience
- Advanced performance & tuning skills to identify the contention at Database, Application, and OS layer and be able to provide the solution quickly to resolve production issues. Should have experience in interpreting performance metrics quickly.
- Good team working skills but equally capable of working independently.
